12/17/2008 1:18:07 AM

TreviPerched on a hill, almost above the fertile land, covered with olive trees, the town is famous for the production of oil, which has a very ancient tradition. Trevi has a Roman origin and it is marked by a robust and compact plan, typical of the medieval times, enclosed by walls with a radius of 70 meters. The pavement is very particular covered by pebbles, which form traditional figures on it.
Among the principal buildings: the Church of S. Emiliano, built between the XII and XIII century and completely rebuilt in 1865. The original structure retains the three apses of the Romanesque era.
The Piaggia District that is an area where you find the church of S. Lucia, built in the fourteenth century, that of S. Chiara with an elliptical plant and the Palace of the XVI century that houses roman exhibits and frescoes of the fourteenth century.
S. Francis, a former convent, repeatedly restructured and now used as a Civic Art Gallery with works by Pinturicchio, Alunno and John of Corraduccio. For those who are interesting to spend a holiday, accommodations in Trevi are really numerous.

Basquiat, one of the most important figures of American graffiti production will be protagonist in an exhibition that tooks place in Rome at the Museo del Corso. His works embody the cries of those who have experienced the indifference and discrimination of the suburbs of New York. The exhibition gathers 40 works: black figures, images incorporated in the landscape of his youth (cars, policemen, cartoons, comic books, graffiti on canvas. Cultural models of urban areas, mainly black, often marginalized which are translated into works of strong emotional tension. An exhibition not to be missed to understand the art of the great artist Jean Michael Basquiat and discover the other side of New York.

Country Villa in Tuscany

10/7/2008 3:50:21 AM

If you are interested in a special holiday in Tuscany I've discovered a very particular country farm, Podere Paterno. It's a large stone country house fully furnished in refined Tuscan rural style. Situated in the middle of a scenic hilly area, it's ideal for parties and celebrations. The hill of Podere paterno overlooks many surrounding medieval towns like Volterra, Lajatico, Peccioli, Terricciola and Chianni.
In the garden there is a fantastic and panoramic swimming pool, where you can relax and have fun, organizing barbecue parties.
On the ground floor, accessible from the garden and the comfortable dining room, you find a fully equipped kitchen with a gas cooker, an oven, a fridge and a freezer. Next to the dining room there is a living room with billiards, large open fireplace, Sat-TV room, HI-FI set with overhead projector and cinema screen, a toilet with shower and an intermediate floor with a piano.
On the first floor there are three large double bedrooms and two large bathrooms with tub.

The villa is gay friendly and nudism is accepted.
